Per-Olov Kindgren is a (classical) guitarist and composer.
He is also an arranger, who brings familiar material to a new instrument, often with orchestral pieces being played on a solo instrument. These arrangements take advantage of the unique nature of the classical guitar to offer a new perspective to familiar melodies.
Here are two pieces you may know, but won’t have heard in this way. I prefer these arrangements to a more conventional orchestral approach. What do you think?
Adagio (Tomaso Albinoni)
Canon in D (Johann Pachelbel)
You can find some more of Per-Olov’s playing in my piece about Antonio Lauro.
